Infanta celebrates 114th Philippine Independence Day

THE LOCAL government unit of Infanta led the celebration of the 114th Philippine Independence Day on June 12 with the theme “Kalayaan: Pananagutan ng Bayan Para sa Tuwid na Daan.” The celebration started through a parade. Local officials and school heads also offered flowers in the statues of national heroes to pay tribute.

The guest speaker, Mr. Ron P. Crisostomo who is the LGU Infanta Planning Officer I and concurrently, the designated Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer and Tourism Officer, and President of the Local Government Employees Association said, “Sa ating pamilya, sa ating ninuno, may magagandang kwento ng kabayanihan. He added that this heroism should also be used to fight the adverse effects of global climate change through adaptation and mitigation. According to him, one way of doing this is by using alternative sources of energy like wind, solar and hydroelectric power.

Municipal Mayor Filipina Grace R. America, in her closing remarks, said, “Ang pagkakamit ng kalayaan ay isang paglalakbay.
