The Province of Quezon celebrated the annual Niyogyugan Festival at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Lucena City. It is one of the longest festivities being celebrated; it lasted for twelve (12) days beginning the 9th of August 2018 and it ended 20th August 2018.
As part of the big celebration, there were four (4) categories for competition which included Street Dancing Contest, Search for the Binibining Niyogyugan 2018, and Search for the Best Float and the Best Booth.
Infanta once again won Overall Champion for Niyogyugan Festival 2018 (tie with the Municipality of Atimonan, Quezon).
Infanta won 1st place in Best Booth Competition for Category A – category A included first and second class municipalities, while category B was for the third class municipalities. As a reward, a trophy, a plaque of appreciation, and a cheque amounting to Three Million Pesos(P3,000,000.00) worth of project were all awarded to Infanta. Infanta’s prized booth was designed by Architect Edwin Nolledo, a private practitioner and resident of this municipality.
For Best Float: Infanta won 3rd runner up, 4th place. The float is made through the concrete effort of the Sub-Committee on Niyogyugan Float 2018 created by the Municipal Mayor Filipina Grace R. America headed by Engr. Ma. Jesusa A. Bugayong of the Municipal Engineering Office Primitivo M. Satumba, Jr., GSO, Reynaldo C. Avila, MENRO, Odon C. Oliva, Municipal Foreman, and Ryan L. Cuento of the Mayor’s Office as members. Float concept was executed by the Sub-Committee with the assistance of the private sector thru Alexander Morato and local artist Michael Cuento.
